JACOB COHËN OPENS ITS FIRST FLAGSHIP STORE IN NEW YORK

Jacob Cohën opens in New York its first flagship store in the US, marking the launch of one of the most ambitious projects in the Italian brand’s history: its entry into the American market, with plans to establish a network of stores in some of the country’s most prestigious locations.

Covering over 400 square metres on Madison Avenue, the new flagship has been conceived by Jennifer Tommasi Bardelle, President and Creative Director, to express and celebrate the brand’s distinctive identity. More than a retail space, the store offers an authentic window into the world of Jacob Cohën and its lifestyle.

Located on Madison Avenue at 67th Street, in one of Manhattan’s most iconic luxury retail districts, the new Jacob Cohën boutique welcomes visitors into an inviting atmosphere designed to redefine the concept of hospitality. A multisensory experience begins at the entrance, where the brand’s signature fragrance envelops the space, evoking the olfactory identity that has long characterised Jacob Cohën’s boutiques and collections. Conceived as a tribute to New Yorkers, the store offers a new gathering place where sophisticated elegance meets Italian style.

The boutique unfolds across two levels. The ground floor is dedicated to the women’s collections and features cognac-coloured leather wall panelling, luxurious velvet in both smooth and fine-ribbed finishes, and tactile textures throughout the flooring, wall coverings and rugs. Warm, richly textured materials create a welcoming, home-like atmosphere, complemented by denim, the brand’s signature fabric. Used on wall panels, seating, mirror frames and poufs, denim becomes an integral part of the interior design. In the fitting rooms, denim details and leather poufs are paired with the romantic touch of bespoke floral wallpaper featuring the Jacob Cohën logo, created exclusively for the space.

An impressive staircase, with leather-clad steps, a matching handrail and monogram-motif wall panelling, leads to the first floor, dedicated to the men’s collections. A coffered ceiling, a denim pool table and a bar area featuring a denim-covered counter and seating evoke the atmosphere of a sophisticated and elegant gentlemen’s club. Here, denim once again takes centre stage, expressing the very essence of Jacob Cohën’s style. In the fitting rooms, it is complemented by smooth beige velvet in one lounge area, furnished with leather poufs and a leather-framed mirror, and smooth blue velvet in the other, also featuring leather poufs and a leather-framed mirror.

Vertical structures in light-gold steel, together with the display fixtures and clothing rails, establish a distinctive architectural rhythm and create a continuous dialogue between the exterior and interior, while preserving the transparency and natural light of the store’s twelve windows.

“The opening of our first flagship store in the US is a major milestone for us,” says Jennifer Tommasi Bardelle, President and Creative Director of Jacob Cohën. “It means competing in the home market of denim. It is a challenge that Jacob Cohën has enthusiastically embraced, drawing on its expertise, Italian style and the exceptional quality of the materials used in our collections. I believe all our stores should be places where people come together, even before they become places to shop. I envisioned the New York store as a sophisticated and elegant living room, rigorously Made in Italy, just like every Jacob Cohën item, where our men’s and women’s collections become elements of design, to be admired before being worn.”
